Dental implants are the closest you can get to healthy, natural teeth.Like tooth roots, dental implants are secured in the jawbone and are not visible once surgically placed. They are used to secure crowns (the parts of teeth seen in the mouth), bridgework or dentures.
.Dental implants look and feel like your own teeth. And because they are designed to fuse with bone, they become permanent.
.Improved speech. With poor-fitting dentures, the teeth can slip within the mouth causing you to mumble or slur your words. Dental implants allow you to speak without the worry that teeth might slip.
Improved comfort. Because they become part of you, implants eliminate the discomfort of removable dentures.
.Easier eating. Sliding dentures can make chewing difficult. Dental implants function like your own teeth, allowing you to eat your favorite foods with confidence and without pain.
.Improved self-esteem. Dental implants can give you back your smile and help you feel better about yourself.Improved oral health. Dental implants don’t require reducing other teeth, as a tooth-supported bridge does. Because nearby teeth are not altered to support the implant, more of your own teeth are left intact, improving long-term oral health. Individual implants also allow easier access between teeth, improving oral hygiene.
.Durability. Implants are very durable and will last many years. With good care, many implants last a lifetime.
.Convenience. Removable dentures are just that; removable. Dental implants eliminate the embarrassing inconvenience of removing dentures, as well as the need for messy adhesives to keep them in place.
Teeth in a Day / All-on-4 Dental Implants offer you a beautiful, natural looking smile and teeth in just one day. It is an option for patients who need numerous teeth to be replaced, or even whole upper or lower set of teeth. The procedure is a relatively new technique in dentistry and allows patients to receive an entire arch of prosthetic teeth in a single appointment with a surgeon. By using just 4 dental implants instead of one implant per tooth, the procedure is minimally invasive and can replace an entire set of teeth without the need for repeat surgical visits. If you are tired of wearing your denture or if your denture is loose and ill fitting the All-on-4 or Teeth in a Day procedure will help you get rid of your denture and provide you with permanent, naturally looking teeth.
All-on-4 and Teeth in a Day are terms used to describe a procedure that allows patients to receive replacement teeth done in just one day. You may hear of other versions of this procedure such as “Teeth in an hour,“ “Dental Implants in One Day,“ “Teeth In One Day,“ “Teeth In One Visit.” While they go by many names, all refer to a one-day implant treatment, which restores a full arch of replacement teeth.
The All-on-4 treatment, specifically, is used to replace the entire upper or lower set of teeth. The procedure creates a permanent prosthesis by using 4 dental implants which act as an anchor for a bridge or overdenture of 12 to 14 teeth. All-on-4 dental implants can replace both damaged and missing teeth and provide a long-term, permanent alternative to dentures.
Four implants are placed into the jawbone and gums and left to heal sufficiently before the implant bridge can be secured in place. Once implanted, the bridge will never need to be removed and will resemble the appearance of your natural teeth.
As with all Dental Implants, All-on-4 Dental Implants are placed during an outpatient surgical procedure in Dentem office. Most patients will want to take advantage of some sort of sedation for this procedure, in addition to the local anesthetic that will be used.
Before leaving Dentem, the patient is fitted with the prosthetic arch. After the implants have fully integrated with the bone, the patient may return to receive a second, stronger denture.
In the days immediately following the All-on-4 placement procedure, The patient should maintain a soft diet for a few weeks and be gentle with oral hygiene routine (but still keep up with it to minimize the presence of potentially infection-causing bacteria!).
In addition to the short treatment time frame, It has a number of advantages over conventional dentures. These are more stable and secure, greatly reducing the jawbone resorption that occurs with standard dentures, which have no root-like structure to anchor the bone. An implant-supported arch will not slide out of place, and it’s more effective at chewing so patients can maintain a varied diet.
Mr Sinha roy got all his teeth extracted at dentem , followed by 4 implants in the upper arch and 4 in the lower by our efficient team of Dr shrey, Dr tanvir, and Dr. Gunita. Patient walkedout happily with fixed dentures .
Success rates of dental implants vary, depending on where in the jaw the implants are placed but, in general, dental implants have a success rate of up to 98%. With proper care (see below), implants can last a lifetime.
In most cases, anyone healthy enough to undergo a routine dental extraction or any other oral surgical procedure can be considered for a dental implant. Patients should have healthy gums and sufficient bone to hold the implant. They also must be committed to good oral hygiene and regular dental visits. Heavy smokers, people suffering from uncontrolled chronic disorders — such as diabetes or heart disease — or patients who have had radiation therapy to the head/neck area need to be evaluated on an individual basis. If you are considering implants, talk to your dentist to see if they are right for you.
