BLOODLESS, STICHLESS AND PAINLESS SURGERY

Laser dentistry is a minimally invasive option when your facing any gum or oral surgery. Many people have never heard of laser dentistry as it is a new and expensive procedure to maintain for clinics. But we at Dentem are fully equipped to do all soft tissue laser surgeries at a very pocket friendly cost.
Mainly 2 types of lasers are used in dentistry

.Hard tissue lasers
.Soft tissue lasers

HARD TISSUE

Cavity detection-laser can detect cavity early by finding evidence of tooth decay.Tooth preparation and dental fillings – local anesthesia and traditional drills are often not needed with laser treatment. Laser can kill bacteria in a cavity and soften the affected tooth structure, which can aid in the long term health of a tooth.Treating tooth sensitivity- teeth that have sensitivity to hot and cold can be treated with dental laser that seal tubules in on the tooth root.

SOFT TISSUE

Crown lengthening- this procedure reshapes both gum tissue and bone for healthier tooth structure.
Restricted tongue movement which is commonly called as tongue tie.
Reshaping gums to create a more pleasing smile. Removing any oral growth.

Our Director Dentem , Dr gunita has done her masters in dental lasers from Austria and is pioneers in soft tissue lasers .

BENEFITS OF LASER DENTISTRY

It is a much smooth form of surgery which is painless, bloodless and stitchless soft tissue surgeries with hardly any discomfort during procedure & very little discomfort during healing period for the patients.

BENEFITS IN SURGERY:

.For most of the patients the anaesthesia may not be required.

.Sutures not required post treatment.

.Laser will sterilize gums making infection less likely.

.Less damage to gums shortens the healing time.

.Minimal or no blood loss during or after surgery.

BENEFITS IN COSMETICS:

-GUM CONTOURING

Laser gum reshaping is a cosmetic dental procedure used to contour the gum tissue. A dental laser is the tool of choice for this procedure as dental lasers produce better results than tradition scalpels, in addition to less pain and a quicker recovery

-DEPIGMENTATION OF GUMS

Gingival hyperpigmentation is a common esthetical concern in patients with gummy smile or excessive gingival display. Laser ablation has been recognized recently as the most effective, pleasant and reliable technique. It has the advantage of easy handling, short treatment time, hemostasis, decontamination, and sterilization effect.

-REMOVAL OF EPULIS OR ANY FOREIGN BODY DEVELOPMENT IN THE ORAL CAVITY.

Single Tooth Whitening

Laser play a very significant role in individual tooth bleaching in order to attain perfect matching with the adjacent bridges.

APPLICATIONS OF LASERS

1.ROOT CANAL INFECTIONS
Lasers can be used to remove the dental pulp and organic debris, and to even modify (shape and clean) the dentinal walls of the root canals. Once preparation is complete and the root canal is sealed (usually with gutta-percha), the laser may be used to soften and mold the sealant for the root canal system.

2.GUM RESHAPING
Lasers are used to reshape gums.

3.BIOPSY
Lasers can be used to remove a small piece of tissue( called a biopsy) so that it can be examined for cancer.

4.REMOVING BENIGN ORAL TUMOURS
Lasers can be used to remove lesions in the mouth and relieve the pain of canker sores.

5.TEETH WHITENING
Lasers are used to speed up in-office teeth whitening procedures. A peroxide bleaching solution, applied to the tooth surface, is activated by laser energy, which speeds up the whitening process.

6.FRENECTOMY
By combining two different lasers (Er:YAG and SuperPulsed CO2), the general dentist can perform a frenectomy procedure to aid orthodontic treatment simply and predictably with controlled delivery of laser energy making use of the unique characteristics of each wavelength.

7.DESENSITIZATION OF TEETH
A combination of laser therapy and topical desensitizing factors, can increase the success of the treatment compared with either alone.

8.REGENERATING DAMAGED NERVES
Low-power laser effectively accelerates the regeneration of the injured nerves, having the potential for clinical application in humans.

9.TREATMENT OF GUM INFLAMMATION
Lasers provide the benefit of not only removing the bacteria but also killing them. This helps reduce bleeding and swelling of gums.

10.Exposing the wisdom tooth
Laser surgery may be more gentle and offer greater precision than other treatments. It is particularly useful for soft tissue surgery and has significant benefits in laser-assisted removal of wisdom teeth.
