Patients are Afraid of Going to The Dentist in COVID-19 Times, Here Are Some Guidelines to Follow At Home

Patients are Afraid of Going to The Dentist in COVID-19 Times, Here Are Some Guidelines to Follow At Home
December 6, 2020editorUncategorized

Patients are more afraid of going to the dentist because the highest risk of infection remains in this department. However, you need not to worry about going dentist if they are maintaining proper hygiene and sanitization. Well, I know, you will really want to avoid going out especially going to your doctor. Worry not! You can still take care of your oral health just by some guidelines that I’ve mentioned for your safety. If treatment is taken by sticking to these guidelines, there is no risk of the spread of coronavirus.

How to maintain oral hygiene in Corona?

I would say, before going to the doctor, it is better to talk to them on the phone, explain your problem and follow whatever suggestion you give to them. If this is not possible, see a nearby dentist for consultation.

There have been changes in the methods of treatment

Some new rules have been added for the safety of the patient and the doctor, due to which there is a slight change in the way of treatment. It has been modified.

  • Thermal screening of the patient is being done before entry into the clinic.
  • Mouth wash and mouth cleanser are being used to reduce the risk of germs before laying on the chair for a checkup.
  • Face is being wiped before sanitizer or any other medicated joint.
  • After laying on the chair, the patient will be draped so that there is no touch of the patient and the doctor.
  • After this, the doctor checks the patient by wearing a PPE kit, along with surgical gloves and masks.

Follow these tips at home

To maintain oral hygiene and to avoid any dental problems in the future, you should take care of oral hygiene at home. You can adopt these methods:

  • Rinse by adding salt in lukewarm water
  • Medicaid cream or ointment should be given by your doctor.
  • Brush your teeth after bedtime in the morning and before bedtime at night.
  • For those who already have cavity problems or have sensation problems in teeth, clean teeth immediately after eating anything sweet.
  • Do not use very hot and very cold things in the event of irritation or sensitivities in the teeth. Do not eat ice cream, avoid drinking chilled water, and cold drinks, etc. Also, do not drink tea or milk too hot.

I hope after reading this blog you are not anymore afraid of going to the dentist.
